XIAOWEI JIANG

Xiaowei Jiang is a Senior Director at Alibaba. He leads the StreamCompute Platform for AliCloud. The platform provides the real time data processing both internally and externally. Previously, he worked as Tech Lead at Facebook and Principal Engineer at Microsoft SQL Server.

DEAN WAMPLER

Dean Wampler, Ph.D., is VP of Fast Data Engineering at Lightbend, where he focuses on the evolving “Fast Data” ecosystem for streaming applications based on Flink, Spark, Kafka, Mesos, the Lightbend Reactive Platform, and other tools. Dean is also an advocate for Functional Programming and Scala. He contributes to several open source projects and and he co-organizes several Chicago-area Meetup groups and several conferences worldwide, including Strata + Hadoop World. Dean is the author or co-author of several books from O’Reilly.

FABIAN HUESKE

Fabian is a committer and PMC member of the Apache Flink project and contributes to Flink since day one. He has a PhD in computer science from TU Berlin and is a co-founder of data Artisans. Fabian frequently speaks at meetups and conferences and blogs about internals and use cases of Flink. Currently, he spends a lot of time writing a book on “Stream Processing with Apache Flink”.

FLAVIO JUNQUEIRA

Flavio Junqueira leads the Pravega team at DellEMC. He is interested in various aspects of distributed systems, including distributed algorithms, concurrency, and scalability. Previously, he held an engineering position with Confluent and research positions with Yahoo Research and Microsoft Research. Flavio is an active contributor of Apache projects, such as Apache ZooKeeper (PMC and committer) and Apache BookKeeper (PMC and committer), and he co-authored the O’Reilly _ZooKeeper_ book. He holds a PhD degree in computer science from the University of California, San Diego.

TYLER AKIDAU

Tyler Akidau is a senior staff software engineer at Google Seattle. He leads technical infrastructure’s internal data processing teams in Seattle (MillWheel & Flume), is a founding member of the Apache Beam PMC, and has spent the last seven years working on massive-scale data processing systems. Though deeply passionate about the capabilities and importance of stream processing, he is also a firm believer in batch and streaming as two sides of the same coin, with the real endgame for data processing systems the seamless merging between the two.

CHINMAY SOMAN

Chinmay Soman has been working in the distributed systems domain for the past 7+ years. He started out in IBM where he worked on distributed filesystems (NFS) and replication technologies. He then joined the Data Infrastructure team in LinkedIn and worked on Voldemort – an open source distributed key-value store, as well as Apache Samza. He’s currently a Staff Software Engineer in Uber where he leads the Streaming Platform team. This team is responsible for building the pub-sub messaging infrastructure and near real time analytics platform.

KONSTANTINOS KLOUDAS

Kostas is a Flink Committer, currently working with data Artisans to make Apache Flink® the best open-source stream processing engine and your data’s best friend. Before joining data Artisans, Kostas was a postdoctoral researcher at IST in Lisbon and even before that he obtained a PhD in Computer Science from INRIA (France), His main research focus was in cloud storage and distributed processing.
